FISH TANK INSTALLATIONS

Whether you have a new tank that needs a perch, or an existing tank that needs some upgrades, we can build you a beautiful custom stand and accessories that complement your decor, provide a place to store all the equipment, food, and manuals, and are much better than the ones available in stores.

Small Freshwater Tank

This tank stand was custom built to fit a 12-gallon tank.  It has an enclosed cabinet with shelves, and is finished in a durable and water-resistant satin polyurethane finish.  The material is oak plywood with custom oak moldings for the door, bottom, and top.  Corners are fully mitered with biscuit joints -- very strong and clean looking.  Note the grain match on the door with the frame, and hidden hinges.  It looks really good -- another piece of quality furniture, with great fit and function!

Salt Water Reef Tank Light Hood

This large saltwater reef tank needed a custom light hood to hold the high-intensity wide-spectrum lights that help keep the reef alive.  The lights need to be close to the water's surface most of the time, but also need to be raise-able to provide access to the tank for maintenance, light changes, etc.  The lights were an odd shape, and the hood needed to be built to accommodate them without being too large and obtrusive.  The previous set up was a couple of 2x4's with aluminum foil, etc. -- functional but detracting from the beauty of the tank.

This hood is 6 feet long and contains 3 lights with reflectors.  It can be vertically adjusted on the supports on either end to the desired height.  The whole unit sits on a frame that rests on the top lip of the tank.  The hood is a triangular shape, all corners are mitered and joined with biscuits to provide strength and clean looks.  Birch plywood, poplar, and stainless steel hardware are the materials, with a stain to match the existing base color.  Three spray coats of a highly durable marine spar varnish bring out the grain pattern, provide a smooth finish, and protect the hood from moisture.

The owner provided design inputs, and also assisted in the construction!  The fish, shrimp, and coral have given it their hearty endorsement.
